Thirukkural – 1102

An ailment’s cause and cure differ; for the misery
caused by this girl, she herself is the cure.

For any other ailment what causes it and what cures it are two different things. But for the love sickness caused by this girl, she herself is the cure.

பிணி  – disease

பிறமன் – external

அணியிழை – jewellery wearing girl

Thirukkural – 1104

Scorching when afar, soothing when near,
where did she find such a fire?

Thirukkural 1104. A fire scorches when you are near and becomes less warm as you move away from it.  But this girl’s fire (her passion) burns me when I am away from her but soothes me and relieves my pain as I embrace her.

Thirukkural -1108

Bliss for lovers is a hug so tight,
that even air doesn’t pass through.

Real bliss for lovers is to hug each other so tight that even a whiff of air can’t pass through them.

வீழ் – fall (in love)
வளி – air
போழ் – split
முயங்குதல் – embrace / hug
