Naaladiyar – 245

Freshwater’s found near seaside too,
Saltwater’s found atop mountains too;
Hence, Coastal chief, men are judged
based on their wisdom , not on their birth.

கடல்சார்ந்தும் இன்னீர் பிறக்கும், மலைசார்ந்தும்
உப்பீண் டுவரி பிறத்தலால்; தத்தம்
இனத்தனைய ரல்லர் எறிகடற்றண் சேர்ப்ப
மனத்தனையர் மக்களென் பார்
