Listen to the reason why we come at dawn,
To worship you and hail your lotus feet;
You having born in our cattle herders clan,
Cannot go without accepting our humble services;
This is not for the boons you grant us today, Govinda!
We shall be your kith and kin forever, in all your avatars;
We are bound to serve only you;
Break all other passions of ours, My Lord!
சிற்றஞ்சிறு காலே வந்து உன்னை சேவித்து, உன்
பொற்றாமரை அடியே போற்றும் பொருள் கேளாய்;
பெற்றம் மேய்த்து உண்ணும் குலத்தில் பிறந்து நீ
குற்றேவல் எங்களைக் கொள்ளாமல் போகாது;
இற்றைப் பறை கொள்வான் அன்று காண் கோவிந்தா;
எற்றைக்கும் ஏழ் ஏழ் பிறவிக்கும் உன் தன்னோடு
உற்றோமே ஆவோம்; உனக்கே நாம் ஆட்செய்வோம்;
மற்றை நம் காமங்கள் மாற்று — ஏலோர் எம்பாவாய்.
The girls tell Krishna, “Why do you think we came before daybreak on all these days, praying to you and hailing your Lotus feet?Listen to the reason Krishna! You blessed our cattle herder clan by being born amidst us. We will not let you go without accepting our humble services to you.
Don’t think we do all this for the boons you grant us today. Our relationship with you is forever. It will be there in all the seven lives of us. We are bound only to you. Please break any other passion that consumes us, Krishna”
