Old Tamil Poetry

Translations of Tamil Poetic works that span 2000 years

Naaladiyaar – 39

Dawn dawns daily,hence the ignorant
revel thinking dawn dawns forever;
dawn that dawns daily deducts a dawn
from one’s life doesn’t dawn on them.

Poem 39 from Naaladiyaar. Every dawn indicates a day less in one’s life. Hence do good deeds instead of just reveling.
